sincerely me [Iridescent]

A small boy sat in the middle of a field, staring up at the stars. His family was asleep in their den, but this pup--he was plagued with unrest, so instead he sat out under the stars, searching for answers to questions he didn't even know how to ask yet.

He stared up at the stars quietly, crickets chirping around him and then sounds of night birds echoing through the distant trees. He glanced back towards the den; he'd wandered pretty far this time. He considered going back and waking up his mom--but, no, that wouldn't work. Mama needed her rest, she had to take care of them and protect the pack. Little ears pressed against his skull. He didn't like being alone.

Then, he heard a whisper. Red eyes blinked in surprise and the pup leaped to his feet, spinning in circles to try to find the source of the sound. After two or three rounds, he declared himself still alone, and very confused. Then he heard the whisper again, and then again, and again! He spun around so quickly that he ended up having to sit down, his eyes practically rolling around in his head and his entire perception jumbled.

Now he was sure he actually saw someone! He couldn't get a really clear look at the figure--just a sort of dark, quick blur, and some more unintelligible whispers, but the youth jumped up and tried to play with whoever it was anyway, despite how shaky his legs were. Hey, at least he wasn't alone!

In his efforts to follow and play with the shadow, he tripped over a rock that he probably wouldn't have seen even if he wasn't still dizzy, and ended up sprawled out on his back, staring up at topsy-turvy stars. He blinked rapidly, trying to clear his vision, then he heard another shuffle, and realized he hadn't actually tried to talk to any other the people he'd heard whispering to him! Wow, was he rude.

"'lo?" He asked, rubbing at his eyes with his paws before looking around again. Anyone there?
