Astridr

The Astridr is the first tier and the Konungr(Kings) of Asgard. They are the decision makers of the pride and must have a majority agreement in their decisions. The Konungrare highly respected members of the pride and every major decision runs through them. They are all equal in power to one another, to ensure the pride doesn't turn into a tyrannical empire.

Konungr Alvis
Konungr Sigrun
Konungr Kenna

Hoyradet

The Hoyradet is the second tier, also known as the High Council. These are trusted members that are hand picked by the Konungr's. They are not required for every meeting in the Yggdrasil, but their opinions are highly valued in times when the Konungr's are having a hard time making a decision. These ranks include Sigridr, Frior, and Hjarta. They are all equal in rank. Each is responsible for an aspect of pride life.

The Sigridr is above the Rune, or Spies. The Sigridr is entrusted with the secret identities of the Runes. They are responsible for collecting information from these members during their meetings in the Yggdrasil and relaying it to the Konngur, as well as making sure these members are working well together and are staying loyal to Asgard. Anything that they feel is threatening to Asgard security, must be reported immediately. They are responsible as well, for carrying out the punishment for a traitorous Rune, which is having the tongue removed to keep them from spilling Asgard secrets.

The Hjarta is above the Var, or Ambassadors and are responsible for sending out the Var and their birds to carry messages to allied packs/prides. The Var must be watched carefully as well to ensure loyalty. The Hjarta must be sure to convey the messaged of the Var to the Konungr as soon as possible, as well as ensuring the Var have suitable bird companions. Birds are judged as harshly as their Ambassador counterparts.

The Frior is above the Haraldr, or Warriors. In times of war, the Frior splits the Haraldr into to ranks. The Royal Guard, and the Border Guard. The Frior leads the Royal guard in protecting the Konngurs and their heirs, the Althings, from attack. The Border Guards are led by their Berserkr, or Warrior Captain, to protect the borders.

Althing

The Althing are the heirs of the Konungr. They do not have to be blood related to the Konungr but that is generally the case. These members are usually double ranked, but not always a rank head. They are expected to be active, so to have a better idea of how to run the pride in case of the sudden death of their Konungr.

Kelda is the heir of the Konungr Alvis
Leifr is the heir of the Konungr Sigrun
Hefnir is heir to the Konungr Kenna.

Huskarl

The Huskarl are the specially skilled members of the pride and serve directly under the Hoyradet. They each have a rank lead who is responsible for making plots. They are free to plot as they will, but the decision for larger plots must be passed through the Hoyradet, or Astridr.

Var (Ambassadors)

Huginn and Muginn were crows that flew around the world and brought information to Odin. Much in that way, the Var are ambassadors and messengers. They take word of royal visits to allied packs/prides and meet visiting royals on the borders to escort them to the Yggdrasil. They are accompanied by bird companions and there will never be a Var without one. They know the use of their birds and know they are an indispensable part of the rank. The birds can be any type, large or small, as long as they are in good health. They are used to scout ahead of the Var to ensure safe passage and keep their Var counterpart safe from ambush.

Huginn

Leader of the Var rank. They take orders directly from the Hjarta and also report directly to the Hjarta. They are allowed to come and go but must get permission from the Hjarta to do so. They are responsible for keeping their Muginn busy with plots, big or small.

Muninn

Lesser Var. They take direction from the Huginn and must relay any and all information to the Huginn when returning from a mission. If a Muninn is caught keeping information, and his bird does not speak up, the bird is punished as well at the Muninn. The Muninn generally run lesser missions, like delivering messages and attending the Njordur, or Merchants, as they travel to prevent the Njordur of losing trade goods to raiders and bandits.

Rune(Spies/Assassins)

Runes are secret members of the pride, never allowed to tell another about their secret rank, and required to defy their own family, if a member is proved to be disloyal to the pride. This rank is mostly chosen by the Konungr out of their own children, though the Konungr might even adopt a cub in secret to be trained for the Runes. Runes must be loyal to the pride and if they are caught telling another about their secret rank, the penalty is having the tongue removed, or being banished as if they never existed. They must have a secondary rank, as to not draw suspicion.

Each Rune has a mask and cloak that they must wear whenever conducting Rune business, or meeting in the Yggdrasil. These items must be well hidden. The other Runes, Hoyradet, and Astridr know the identity of the Runes, but if their cover can be blown if their cloak and mask are not in place when in a mission or meeting, just in case someone is spying on them.

Hel

Hel is the leader of the Runes. They are to report to the Sigridr whenever they return from a mission. They are allowed to come and go but must get permission from the Sigridr to do so. They are responsible for keeping the other Runes busy with plots, big or small, as well as keeping the peace in his ranks.

Hel is the ruler of the Underworld. Hel's mask is spiked around the cheek/jaw area. It is painted half blue and half flesh, overlaid with a black feline skull design. The cloak is thick fur, dyed blue and flesh, with the crude image of a black skeleton painted on it. Blackened bones hang all around the bottom of the cloak and three saber tails hang from the back.

Fenrir

The great wolf that devours Odin during the Ragnarok.Fenrir's mask is made of a giant, ancient wolf skull, larger than any wolf living today. The mask is pitch black with red around the eyes. The cloak is black and longer than the others, with a wolf tail attached at the base. Long red 'scars' adorn the cloak, as if clawed by some other great beast. The cloak is attached to the skull by small ropes adorned with wolf claws.

Jormungand

A sea serpent that encircles the world. The mask of the Jormungand is of a snake, carved from wood. Deep blues and greens, mixed with fish scales, made the paint for this serpent's mask and so the face seems to shimmer even in moon light. The sides are frilled and the top has a row of small spikes. The cloak is blue, with green laced scales painted on it. Snakeskin hangs in tendrils around the shoulders.

Nidhogg

The dragon that gnaws the roots of the World Tree. The mask of the Nidhogg is long and narrow, with great long fangs and is painted dark green with orange flecking. The cloak is also dark green, with orange flecking, but a root lays over the spine, curving down around the ribs of the wearer, staring at the back of the mask and extending to the base of the tail.

Skoll

The Warg that chases the Sun.Skoll's mask is that of a lion, painted dark gold with a bright yellow sun on the forehead. A thick golden mane attaches the mask to the cloak, which is also dark gold with honey colored tufts of fur around the border. A few white striped paint the shoulders. This is the brightest of the Rune outfits.

Hati

The Warg that chases the Moon.Hati's mask wooden, made to look like a wolf with great tall ears. It's painted purple and blue, with a white moon on the forehead, and a few speckled stars. The cloak is gradient black, purple, and blue, with flecked stars and dried moon flowers around the neck.

Haraldr

The warriors of the pride, brave and resourceful, the Haraldr are greatly honored. They protect the pride in war and peace. The Haraldr can also help the Caccioatore, or Scouts, in taking down an unruly tresspasser.

Berserkr

The Captain of the Haraldr, or Warriors. Brave and strong, the Berserkr can't be afraid of battle. They must be courageous lead their troops straight into the mouth of death without waver, but smart enough to see his way around the battlefield. The Berserkr is responsible for keeping his Drengrs in line and healthy. In times of war, the Berserkr works with the Frior to keep the pride safe. The Frior will split his forces, taking some for himself to become the Royal Guards, and sending the rest with the Berserkr as Border Guards.

Drengr

Soldiers under the Haraldr. Sparring is an acceptable way to train, as is hunting parties, which can take place with or without the Berserkr. Any of these members can aid a Cacciotore with bringing down a trespasser and are encouraged to work as a team.

Solveig

The backbone of the pride. Hard working and indispensable, these members are not seen as lessers to the Huskarl, just in a different class. They do not generally answer to the Hoyradet as their ranks don't usually consist of defense or information gathering.

Eira

The healers and nurse maids of the pride. They must be well versed in the healing arts but can choose to have their secondary in child care, or poison making. Doing both is possible, but would probably be dangerous to practice around the little ones.

Eir

The leader of the Eira, left with the task of caring for the pride garden. The Eir's private den is one of the largest in the pride and must be well stocked with everything needed for healing and poisoning. This rank is responsible for making sure the stocks are up and that the garden is well cared for, which might include herb picking plots with the Valkyries or mild poisonings to test the skills of the Valkyries.

Valkyrie

Lesser Eiras, doubling as nurses to the children, they live across the river form the main healer's cave. They have their own dens amongst the children and are tasked with keeping them safe. They can choose to be solely into child care, or into poison crafting, or both.

Lita

Asgard's scouts. A good judge of character would be good in this rank, as acceptances are no simple thing. Keep your eyes out for items on the borders that the Njordur might like. Those crafters might just reward you for your find.

Aetla

Leader of the Lita. Must take part in training their Taka's, even if it means escorting them to their first acceptance to be sure they know what they're looking for.

Taka

Lesser Lita, responsible for acceptances.

Glodhker

Firekeepers of the pride. They must keep the fires going and learn the ways of the flames. Called upon for entertainment, as well as defense, they should always be looking for new ways to tame the flame.

Brenna

Main Glodhker, must be sure that her Hyrr's are practicing safely and send any that are injured to the Eira to avoid infection complications. Must also be sure that the fires are burning and that there are enough torches to go around in case of an emergency. They need to know all about fire control since fires are a huge problem in the dry season. If the pride is attacked, they must know the right time to use fire, or know when the conditions make it far too risky to be used as a defense strategy.

Hyrr

Not afraid of a little burn, the Hyrr are followers of the Brenna. They must be fast thinkers, willing to follow the commands of their Brenna quickly in an emergency. Well versed in fires and fire control, they have to be alert and know what to do in case something happens in the field to their Brenna.

Njordur

Merchants and crafters, creating wares for alliances, trades, and member participation. They can make all sorts of things for the pride, from bowls and torch bases, to jewelry and tattoos.

Skapari

Head Njordur, in charge tattoos and more advanced item crafting. They arrange for items to be gathered and delivered to other packs and prides. They also arrange for raids with other ranks to obtain needed human items.

Skapa

General crafters, making bowls and tanning hides, as well as basic accessories and dying furs and cloth, etc.

Einar

Rankless pride members, split into two groups. Natural borns, and accepted members. The way they gain ranks is the same however and they are both treated equally.

Folki

Pride members who are not natural born to the pride. They must choose a rank and attend a Rites of Passage before gaining a rank. They go through the Rites at any age.

Ungr

Cubs under two years old who are born in the pride. Although the Folki can be any age when they go through the Rites, the natural born cubs must go through it before they are two years old. They can choose to go starting at six months old, but no later than their second birthday.
