Post Fillers

We understand that getting a certain number of words for a post can put a lot of pressure on an RPer so there is no more 300 word minimum. However, we really encourage you to bulk up your paragraphs and give others writing with you something to respond to.

There are no consequences for a small post, but if you are caught making one liners, we will request that you add to it. If you are having a hard time bulking up your post, here are some things that might help you out.

-Weather.
-Time of day.
-Surroundings.
-Your characters thoughts. (About anything, where they are, who they are talking to, Asgard  in general)
-What your character is doing. (Where they are going and why)
-Your characters response to something. (Possibly another character, event or change)
-Something for others to reply to, speech or movement perhaps.
-With all of those points use description! What they look like and how your character interacts with them.

No Consent Rule

We have a no consent rule. Simply put, this means you can attempt to deal a killing blow to another character in a fight. However, this must be discussed ahead of time. Most of the fights here are tournaments and there is no reason to kill someone. We do not condone killing anyone without good reason.

Ranks

In Asgard  nearly every Member belongs to a Rank. When a cub is born, they are called Ungr. They remain Ungr until they are two years old and at that point they are expected to have already complete a Rites of Passage and to have chosen their own rank. Folki are accepted members, AA or IC, that have yet to go through a Rites. These two groups are requited to attend a Rites and must use that means to choose their ranks.

For information on challenging for a Captain rank, read below.

Rank Captains

The Captain would be the highest ranked individual of the rank. Captains have different titles depending on the rank. Captains include :

Ranks
Var (Ambassador)
Rune (Spy/Assassin)
Haraldr (Warrior/Guard)
Eira (Healer)
Lita (Scout)
Glodhker (Firekeeper)
Njordur (Merchant/Crafter)
          Captain Title
Huginn
Hel
Berserkr
Eir
Aetla
Brenna
Skapari

Challenges

A Konungr can promote a Captain over the current if the current one is incompetent IC or becomes inactive. We understand that sometimes things happen IRL that you can't help, so if you are a lead, please let us know so we can handle the responsibilities of your rank while you are gone.

Challenges can be made for a Captain, however, you must already be a part of that rank, or the Captain of another rank. This ensures that the individual in a Captain position, already knows what they are doing and have at least some experience either in that rank, or as a Captain.

Examples:
Lora is a Valkyrie. She wants to take the Eir position as the Captain of the Eira. She can challenge her Eir for the position.
Sara is Taka and she wants the Eir position. She cannot challenge for the Eir since she is not in the Eira rank.
Bob is Brenna, Captain of the Glohdker. He can challenge the Eir for her position, and if he wins, he can then choose to appoint his own replacement from his Hyrr, or have those that want to position to have a tournament/fight for it.

Asgard's fighting rules

These are the IC fighting rules that apply within Asgard's borders. Fighting rules do not need to apply to each and every battle. If you only wish to make a friendly spar with someone else, or train, ect... then you will not need to follow these directives. These rules however, must be respected in the events of a challenge.

There must be a referee for a Challenge fight. That way, someone can be there to break up any fights and review posts for rule breaking. This will most likely be the Konungr or Hoyradet to ensure there is a high ranked member present without bias.

Challenge fights are considered consent fight threads. Both parties must be aware that killing/maiming without permission from the other player is not allowed. We don't fight to kill off our own members, just to display dominance and to gain a Captain rank. Powerplay and Godmodding are not allowed. This means, you cannot:

1. Have an overly powerful character with no weaknesses
2. Thrill kill
3. Control the actions of another character including injuries and death.
4. Use OOC knowledge for IC responses.
5. Controlling another character in general.

In the event that godmodding is detected in either of the fighter's posts, referees will ask that the mistake is fixed before the fight continues.

Every attack made upon the other must be an "attempt". The maximum of attacks permitted per post is 5. A player may not dodge more than 3 consecutive attacks. Other players may not interrupt or join in the fight for the benefit of either the challenger or the challenged. Players may only join with their characters to watch, if permission is granted by both fighters. Each player has 5 days to respond to their opponent before the last one posting is declared winner

Players will have a right to debate these rules and set their own, but only at the start of each fighting thread. Both players must agree on their terms for them to be changed, or else they will remain as written here.

Rank Marks

Each rank has their own tattoo. When a Folki or Ungr returns from their Rites with success, they choose their rank and receive their tattoo. The tattoos will be listed in the Rank Information, on the Rank page. The Runes do not have a tattoo for their rank, due to need for complete secrecy.

High Ranks & Activity

During OOC activity check (which will be help every 6 months or so) we will allow everyone to link their posts so we can ensure that ranks are active. Each tier as a post count they must adhere to. If they don't meet that standard, they will be demoted.

High ranks need be active because they have duties both ICly and OOCly that are vital to the smooth running of the Pride.

Acceptance

Auto-Acceptance

Auto-acceptance is always available, no matter if borders are open or not. In order to use our Auto-Acceptance feature, you need to fill out this form and send it to Stormy, BlackRabbit, or Tolf.

Quote
Player's Name:
Character's Name:
Character's Profile:
Link three previous roleplay examples:
Tell me why you/your character wants to join Asgard:

Feel free to ask Tolf, Stormy, or BlackRabbit if you want to know more.

Roleplay Acceptance

This is only available when borders are open. This way of joining a pride is preferred to auto-acceptance. Players wishing to join the pride through roleplay are welcomed to post threads in which their characters request entry into the pride. To cross too far into the borders, or even hunt the prey while not yet a member of the pride, is frowned upon. Characters are asked to wait until a member (able to recruit) finds them and deems them worthy and asks them to join the pride,in which case they'll either be welcomed in as Folki, or deems them unworthy and they are asked to leave.

For any questions on this process, please send a pm to Stormy, BlackRabbit, or Tolf.

What Species are Allowed in Stone Claw

-We welcome all species. We are still a cat pride, but we will allow a useful member of another species. We do have alliances with wolf packs so it would be silly for us to not allow them.

-Some members are not fond of wolves however, so please be mindful of that when trying to join. We will allow other species, but this is still primarily a feline pride, so please don’t attempt to bring another species unless you have a plot or they can do something unique and useful.

-Hoofed animals (i.e. Horses, deer, goats etc) any any small prey animals (i.e. Mice, rabbits, weasels etc) are not allowed to join the Pride. Birds, however, are welcomed and needed for the Var.

Mating, Competitions & Cubs

Mating Unions

In Asgard family is more important that everything. The pride is one big family, with sub families within. Loyalty is highly important and therefor family is valued. Individuals mate for life in Asgard and they take vows to be committed to each other and their own family. There is usually a ceremony conducted before the Konungrs and invited members.

If one mate is caught committing adultery, it is up to the other mate if the union continues, or is over and they are free to mate another.

If cubs are born of adultery, they are considered illegal and will be adopted by other families in the pride.

Mating Competitions

In times when cubs are not as abundant, a mating competition can be held. In this case, participants can be male or female, and they will fight tournament style until a winner is chosen. The winner gets a tattoo that marks them as the Valor of the competition and get the recognition as a Valor, a strong and willing member that has contributed to the future of the pride.

Cubs in Asgard

Legal cubs of Asgard are born of two mated parents and are placed in the Ungr denning area once they are weened and are protected by and cared for, by the Valkyries. Their parents are encouraged to take care of their children as well and really bond with them since they are still family.

Mating competition cubs are legal, but are generally adopted in the same manner as an illegal cub. Their parents are still encouraged to interact with them anyway. They're adopted by others simply because the Mating Competition does not make the pair a family, and therefor the children need a family.

Illegal cubs (Those born from adultry) are considered illegal cubs and must be adopted by other families. They are not treated as lessers in the pride, as their parentage is not their fault. These cubs might even be adopted by the Astridr or Hoyradet and become royals or nobles.

Traveling

Ranked members are allowed to travel into the neutrals as long as they speak to their superiors first. Every rank above Einar has a reason to leave the borders please don't do so alone. Take another member with you for protection. Below are reasons ranks would have to leave the borders. If you have another plot for traveling, just be sure to get it cleared first. Get creative!

Var - Taking messages to allied packs/prides. Recruiting members outside the borders.
Runes - Spying and tracking down fugitives
Haraldr - Body guards for other pride members who travel
Eira - Herb collecting. There are a lot of things in the neutrals we don't have in the pride. The garden is small, so collecting is important.
Lita - Recruiting missions can happen
Glohdker - Limb collecting for torches
Njordur - Item collecting and raids

Leaving

Leaving the pride without reason and permission is considered deserting. If you leave the borders without permission, you can be subject to demotion. Trips are not meant to last long periods of time, so if you leave on a trip and your character might go inactive due to OOC reasons, please let us know so we won't count your character as a deserter.

Returning

If you leave for more than just a trip, and you decide to bring your character back, they must start over as a Folki. This does not mean that the character is not welcomed back, it just ensures that a returning character is willing to work their way back up and put their dedication into their pride.
